Sowing time: Sow directly outdoors from March to May, or sow in September for earlier flowers the following spring. Seeds can also be started in pots and transplanted.
Plant out: Plant out from April onwards, once seedlings are well established.
Flowering period: May to October.
Height: Up to 60 cm. Grow in full sun or partial shade in well-drained soil.
Seed saving: Allow flower heads to dry on the plant. Collect the curved, dry seeds and store them in a cool, dry place.
Pests and problems: Generally easy to grow. Protect young plants from slugs and snails. Deadhead regularly to encourage more flowers and water during prolonged dry spells.
